Privacy Policy
Last updated:
BrainDump helps you capture thoughts, brainstorm with AI, and convert ideas into tasks. We collect only what’s needed to run the app, improve reliability, and support subscriptions.
Privacy at a glance
BrainDump collects only the information necessary to operate the app, sync your data when you choose to sign in, and keep the experience reliable. We collect your email and an internal user ID for authentication and support, purchase history to provide subscription access, and the content you create (brain dumps and tasks). Your content is stored on your device and, if you enable sync, in our database. We also receive high‑level usage analytics and crash diagnostics, plus a device identifier used only for diagnostics—not for advertising. We do not use third‑party ad SDKs, do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not sell your data. If you use voice input, the app requests microphone and speech recognition access; we do not store audio and only the transcribed text you choose to save or send to AI is handled. If you enable notifications, your preferences are stored on‑device and notifications are scheduled locally—notification content is not sent to our servers. We use trusted processors to provide core functionality: Supabase (authentication and database), RevenueCat (in‑app purchases), Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics (product and crash insights), OpenAI (processing text for AI features), and Apple (speech services and App Store distribution). We retain data while your account is active; local data remains on your device; and upon request we delete account‑linked data from our systems and processors within a reasonable period. Data in transit uses HTTPS. For account or data deletion, email support@braindumpapp.org.
